Does anyone know if the current PC version of MAX supports the Intel Core Duo Processor. Is MAX multi processor aware/enabled?

I am eagerly awaiting the max upgrade to macintel machines. I guess a company like cycling 74 will be one of the first to make a universal binary version of max? Did cycling 74 already announce a timeschedule for this?

My question is would MAX run faster on a Intel Core Duo Processor running WinXP? Compared to a normal single processor environment.

if windows xp will run on a macbook pro and max msp wil run on such a configuration that would make working with max very flexible! That would mean we do not have to wait for the max universal binary version.....

Jitter is the part of Max most likely to improve with multi-processor computers, but the rest of Max should receive a boost as well since its operations happen in several independent threads.
I was about to type in that the duos in macs are not as fast as the fastest duos available in PCs, but I just went to the Apple Store and I see they are now offering the MacBook in 1.83, 2 and 2.13 GHz options. So I guess that gap has closed!
