Well I just installed JRE7 and got an Error window when creating a mxj object saying:
"This application failed to start because MSVCR100.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem"
Plus some error info on the max window (see attachment)
This is on Windows XP. I uninstalled JRE7 and it reverted back to the latest JRE6 I had previously installed and all was well. So I would stick to JRE6 or JDK6 for now if I was you.... I have no choice in the matter
Error loading: C:Program FilesJavajre7binclientjvm.dll
(mxj) mxj_platform_init failed. Could not initialize the Java Runtime Environment.
Please check your Java installation. http://java.sun.com
Unable to create JVM
Me too. Same problem with JRE7. I will try to switch to JRE6.
For people that need to use earlier versions of Max with the JRE7, I believe that you can solve this by installing MS visual studio 2010 C runtime. Java only installs this to a local folder which is found from launching Java applications in their own process, not from within other applications.
