When automating a change to the jit.mo.join object dim attribute, Max crashes. Does anyone know what is happening, is this a bug?

It is likely you have Overdrive enabled, and therefore line is outputing from a separate thread. I believe the main issue is that attrui's are problematic when updating from high-priority thread. First thing to try is to replace the attrui with a message box [ dim $1 ].

If that doesn't work, try inserting a deferlow object between line and the attrui (or message box).

Please let us know if either of these workarounds do the trick. I'll investigate the crashing.

Rob, thank you so much! All of these workaround options work. If I turn off Overdrive, I am able to send from line directly to the attrui. If leave Overdrive on, and I insert a deferlow between line and attrui, I am able to update the attribute that way.

Today, when I use the message box [dim $1], there is no crash, with Overdrive on or off. But I *believe* that I tried this before, and Max still crashed—I may well be mistaken. Thank you for the workarounds and for investigating!
