    Slight off topic
Are there many of you using max/msp/jitter in the Brussels(ish) area?

I'm at least one. And as far as I know some 5 institutions are teaching max/msp/jitter in the larger Brussels(ish) area. So that makes for quite a few people, at different degrees of experience. -- Peter Swinnen ---------------------------------------- Composer (from Brussels) http://www.peterswinnen.be mailto:info@peterswinnen.be

do drop by, opening of our new space the 28th. i dont know what you do, but if you're working on something, we'd be glad to hear about it. just a chat is fine too of course (beer is compulsary). okno, imal and foam are in the same compound btw, with other orgs at walking distance. it's like "thursday, this must be belgium" for media artists ; )
brussels is great, i think you'll like it...
so maybe we'll see eachother in non-unicode soon.
      cheers!

I forgot all about the f0am folks, although we did some bits of work together a couple of years ago.
What is it with four-letter project names? Perhaps they're all run by old-school Macintosh programmers. (You'd better use your first name, Pere...!)

My first name is the bane of my life!...its "Peter" in Catalan though someone pointed out to me (in Brussels) they thought I was a priest or something "Father Josep"...Pere Josep which is a very normal Catalan name. In the UK kids think I sound like a fruit. In Barcelonian Catalan it also sounds like the same fruit but in Spanish, So it is a no win situation, but I have a plan. There's a story about Dweezil Zappa being mocked at school because of his name so he changed it to Fred and they took the mickey out of that one too, so he changed it back to Dweezil. P

I like that idea. I visited Imal's new space, it's definitely a perfect environment for informal meetings. So?

Although I don't live in Brussels, I would like to be on your list. My daughter lives in Luxembourg so I fly into Brussels several times a year to visit her.

sure! contact me all those interested - maybe off this list - to discuss about how we could set such informal max/pd meetings; check also our new rendez-vous web site, http://www.imal.org/rendez-vous we are open to add other types of events.

For those who are interested in a Max / Pure Data user group with get- togethers in Brussels (and maybe a mailing list also...) stay tuned. we are working on it, announcements to come.

Okay, looks great! Energy patchers in brussels. Our - iMAL - space should be good for a meeting like that. I am the doorkeeper and maybe the barkeeper.
We have to discuss that, but maybe better not on the mailinglist because this is off topic?! How and where do we discuss this?
      Grzz,
      p.s. imal has a bar
    • Oct 23 2007 | 9:17 pm
It seems like there is enough for us to create some kind of mailing list/group or would this be a burden as someone would have to administrate it (?), I have no experience of this kind of thing. any suggestions?
Am so glad I asked that first question, never expected the response.
All we need now is an abstraction to fix those clouds , any takers?

To add on that, I come by pretty often on my rides between Paris and Berlin. Seems Brussels is the center of the European max world...

Dear Pure Data and Max programmers,
A new users group is being set up in Brussels for those interested in Max and Pd.
Yves Bernard of iMAL has kindly set up a mailing list to further this end, more info is here: http://www.imal.org/mailman/listinfo/bbang
Anyone is welcome to subscribe and those interested in participating in this group are highly encouraged to do so. Pd and Max enthusiasts from within the surrounding high-speed rail neighbourhood are especially welcome.
We are looking towards planning a first meeting sometime before the end of this year with following meetings happening approximately monthly.
      best regards, Andrew Brouse
