It would appear, based on the names of the functions, that you've got
a rather old CFM version of pattrstorage on your hard drive, which is
being loaded in preference to the newest one (and that you've enabled
      CFM object loading).
Please do a search of your hard drive and make sure that any old CFM
versions of built-in Max objects are not in Max's search path. I
suspect that your problem will go away at that point.

thanks so much for your reply. besides the Object, today was the first download/install on the machine of any MAX/MSP files at all.

There is no other explanation for the crashlog you sent me that I can
      think of.
If you like, please send your patch (an object is something different
in MaxMSP-speak) and everything that came with it, zipped or stuffed
to me privately, or to support@cycling74.com, and we can try to
determine what the issue is (possibly, the extra pattrstorage object
is sitting next to the patch you're trying to open - did a search on
the drive for the word "pattrstorage" turn up anything?). Without
more information, it's not going to be possible to diagnose this any
      further.
