Menu Bar App - OS X

I want to make a menu bar app using Max, and I can't find any documentation anywhere saying this is possible. I know you can change the menus in the menu bar, but I actually want to have no menus, and have a little button in the menu bar for my app that opens and closes like the Dropbox app does.
    Is this possible with MaxMSP?

Not exactly sure what you mean by "have a little button in the menu bar for my app that opens and closes like the Dropbox app does." could you be more specific?
Have you checked out the [menubar] object? Is this partly what you're looking for?

Hi, I have a similar question. I think what is meant by Nathan is an application that is accessible through the menu bar on your mac. So where the wifi, bluetooth control is, an app which drops down to show the app you have made. [menubar] is exclusively inside the app isn't it?

You can't do anything like that with Max. Adding App to menu bar would involve either writing menu item plugin for the app and placing it into system where extra menu items reside, or using scripts menu with script to launch the app, or use some third party menu extenders .
