Is it possible to send midi notes to different midi channels from a Max For Live midi device? 

I am trying to send midi notes to different midi channels of a multitimbral vst instrument but I can't get anything to be sent outside of channel 1. 

In the following example "midiformat 2" sends out of channel 1...

Using [vst~] you could embed the multitimbral vst instrument in your M4L device and control it directly from the 2nd outlet of [midiformat].

it should not make a difference, but you set channel number 2 float.

I know this is weird, but this is what midiformat's helpfile mentions:

it a limitation of live. Live converts all channels to channel 1
