Midi devices name forced, I really need help!

    Hi there!
    10 years using Max in live performances, and I still find myself setting up manually the in/out port of all my notein/out, ctlin/out devices. Why? because the a,b,c... midi destinations get erased as soon as you launch Max without your devices connected. Also if you launch your patch before your midi devices are connected, the same happens...
    I don't know how to set names, if I write inside a ctlin object "to MaxMSP 1", then it simply becomes a "dead" box. How does it actually work? I'm using Max5.
    Please guys, many years getting crazy on stage setting up manually each midi object with all audience coming in, any ideas how can I make each object fixed and forced to connect to a given midi device NO MATTER WHAT?

      Anyway to FIX no matter what, the ports of in/out midi objects??

      Thanks a lot! It works, now I realize I was forgetting to put the ""
      So now, if I put "My midi device", exactly like that inside every midi device, with QUOTES and keeping in mind that it is CASE SENSITIVE, then on load, everything will be correctly set up.
      I think it's not clear enough in the help patch. Damn! something so simple took me years!

      Keep in mind, anything with spaces that you want as a single "wh o l e" Or "s tr ing" needs to be inside quotation marks.
