Midi File Buffer?

Hello everyone, I've been using Eric Singer's seqplayer object, and the detonate object to do some midi sequencing. My question is, is there any way to store midi files in a sort of buffer so that they could be recalled without having to stop and load them? Something like the buffer~ object for samples, except for midi files? Is this even possible?
    Any input is greatly appreciated
    thanks

Does it have to be MIDI?
Lots of people have used coll in a variety of ways for storing almost any kind of sequential structure. The waveshaping demo in the examples folder is one, um, example.
Even cooler, IMHO, is ice.lattice from iCE tools. More visual feedback, switch between multiple patterns stored in a single object with a single message, easily play backwards/forwards/otherwards, and much more...
      Just two ideas.
