This is a general question but is it possible to create an interface in max for live with patching cables?

Let's say I would build a Synth and I want a modular matrix with cables that I can patch, could it be possible to do that in Max?

Well I guess that yes since Max For Cats did it with OSCiLLOT but I'm not sure exactly how it's made...

it is possible, I recall seeing something a long time ago posted to the forum, oh and here it is... don't know who made it, sorry...

Thanks floating point, I will have a look at that.

if I really wanted that functionality (beyond, you know, normal cables in Max) I'd be tempted to just buy oscillot and attempt to work inside that framework.

or give up the idea to build a patchcing matrix and build you modules within the maxparadigm: object boxes with inlets and outlets.

It's been a long time since anyone asked, but here is a hack stolen from a Max For Cats M4L patch that uses JS to create new connections in a locked patch.

You c ould use the new crosspatch object in max 8.3

MINDBLOW!!!! TANKS!! Updating from 8.2 now!

not sure if that is really better than a custom lcd or jitter interface.
