    hi,
    I know, this it not the forum for computer-interfaces, but this thing looks like it is built for communicating with max/msp: http://monome.org/ so I thought it would be interesting for some of you.

      Thanks for the link, it looks interesting, but the price tag is way too high, I am sure you could DIY for less than 50 bucks... 200 would be more reasonable...

      Maybe, as component cost, but I believe these things are low-volume and hand-made.
      The thing is designed and built by Brian Crabtree, with whom I did some Max/MSP project work a year or so ago. I'm pretty sure at one stage he had plans for a smaller one (4 x 4) as well.

      if you're handy with a soldering iron, check out this resource: http://www.ucapps.de/index.html the MIDIBox forum. based on pic ic's, with a passel of interesting projects and a very active user forum. now if i just had a few extra days in my week.... i want to build a box of joysticks.... cheers bruce
