MOVI camera

Some of you might be interested in the MOVI camera, which was recently announced. It's a UHD fixed lens remote camera that has wireless and wired options, and offers an iOS interface for previewing and interacting with the image - mostly defining crops and zooming. The app also incorporates face tracking to produce automated follow shots.
One interesting thing: on the developer page it explicitly touts Max/Jitter support via an SDK, to be made available in Summer 2016. Very few details so far, but it's an interesting development.
It's on pre-sale right now, ships in April.https://getmovi.com/

Yeah, could be interesting. One thing I can't fathom out from the site is whether the camera, er, moves. At first glance I thought it was a dinky little motorised camera (akin to the pro ones you often get in venues), which would be great. However, they seem shy of saying or showing that anywhere, so I'm wondering if it basically just crops from a 4k wide-angle image to give the movement - still possibly worthwhile, but not as cool IMO.

From what I can tell it's a fixed camera that shoots at UHD resolution, and does cropping/pan & scan to produce movement. I've never seen a PTZ camera at that price point, frankly.
