movie object / audio output

Is there a way to achieve a signal output from the movie object.
I wish to take the signal and pass it through a sfrecord~ to record the audio output.
Can't seem to figure out any way to do this, any ideas?

There's no built-in method for doing this with the movie object. You would basically need to write a patch which ran an sfplay~ object (playing the sound track of the movie) in parallel, reflecting changes in position or speed of the movie. If you do a search in the forum archives for "spigot~", you will probably turn up a patch or two which do this with the jit.qt.movie object.
The jit.qt.movie object, pre-QT7, has a facility called spigot~ which does this. In the current public beta, spigot~ has been rewritten to work as well.
