mysql data import into jitter

    Hi all,
I would like to get text data out of a mysql database and use this text ( names ) to make a realtime movie just fading them in and out. I don't think this is too complicated but I have no idea how to import this data into max/msp jitter.
If someone could point to the right object names, I would highly appreciate it.
    Thanks in advance. Andreas

MXJ, and a MySQL JDBC layer, and a chunk of Java and Jitter coding. I don't do a great deal of Jitter so I can't help with that off the top of my head (jit.gl.text is probably what you need).
Sounds like a nice little assignment. Have fun.

for questions like these you might want to check http:// www.maxobjects.com/. look for the mysql object, there is already a handy object you can query your database with.

I have a sample patch that connects to a mysql database (a specific database..), but, the code might be useful:
then you could take the strings, dump them into a jitter string matrix (jit.str.xxxxxx) and then to a jit.lcd for pixel text or jit.gl.text2D or text3D for openGL text.

      Thanks a lot !
Unfortunately my mac is not usable at the moment.
I download the shareCMS SQL 1.0 and will have a look at it hopefully soon.
