im trying to observe track meters in grouped tracks

the device control all the tracks under the group track

and im trying to have the tracks meters on the device work

while the tracks are folded under the group.

but when i fold the group the meters dont work , only when the group is unfolded.

i used [live.observer output_meter_level] to get meter values.

so i was looking in all mixer devices out there and they all seems to unable to observe folded tracks meters...

is it up to ableton to improve the api to get the folded meters ?

its probbly for cpu reduce but it is kind of limiting u cant call them with m4l

Same limitation goes with instruments inside a rack : I can only retrieve output_level_meter from the whole track but not from each indivudual instrument inside the rack

When a track is in a group that is folded there is no meter data being generated by Ableton, and thus nothing to observe.
