    Position: Tenure-track position in the Professorial Series
    Start Date: July 1, 2008
    Description: Composer-improviser with an established reputation who will diversify the range of contemporary creative practices explored in the department's new graduate program in Integrated Composition, Improvisation, and Technology (ICIT), complementing the strengths of the existing faculty. We especially seek specializations in interactive/performative technology, African-American music, synthesis of Asian and Western musical traditions, multi-instrumentalism, and intercultural music making. In addition to offering innovative graduate courses, this person will contribute to the undergraduate curriculum and fulfill normal service duties appropriate to the position.
    Academic qualifications: We seek candidates who hold an appropriate advanced degree in music or professional experience commensurate with the appointment.
    About the UC Irvine Music Department: The Department of Music has a respected faculty of seventeen full-time members and many exceptional part-time faculty from the Los Angeles area. It boasts excellent facilities in support of performance activities and music technology. The Claire Trevor School of the Arts offers graduate and undergraduate degrees in Dance, Drama, Music, and Studio Art.
