OT: Motu 828 Mk II Latency

    Jan 14 2006 | 4:50 am
    hi,
off topic : i'm thinking about an interface for a
macbook in february. since i've already got an RME
octamic, the digiface would have been best, but since
there's no cardbus, it has to be firewire or USB i
guess. does someone know how the Motu 828 Mk II
performs latency wise ; is it "faster" or "slower"
than a Fireware, and is there a performance difference
between the firewire and USB version ? how do firewire
    and USB compare a) latency-wise, b) CPU-load wise ?
    best, -sciss-

As you're on the RME waggon already I guess the fireface from RME will
give you what you need. Though the Macbook will have only firewire 400,
you'd still be fast enough and get 12 Mic inputs of the same quality and
      sound.
      Just an idea...
