[OT] mrmr-OSC accelerometer ?

    Nov 23 2008 | 2:55 pm
    hi
this is not directly a max question, but since i did not found an
answer (nor a way to ask the question) on mrmr's web page......
_When using mrmr osc controller on my ipod touch, there is a command
for smoothing the accelerometer - which makes me belive that there IS
the accelerometer data transmitted by mrmr (as it is by touch osc or
OSCemote) - but I can not receive it (I receive all other controls
    without a problem)
anybody has it working?? is there a trick, a message to send, anything??
    many thanks

Kasper, what version of mrmr are you using? I have successfully received the accel data using the latest version.

I guess it's the latest one - I re-checked on the apple store
(whatever the name - the i-tunes shop) today
even upgraded the ipod touch OS
in my max I use an udpreceive (set to 8000, but it is also so on the
i pod) and I receive all kind of messages, for the interfaces i build
      -( kind of "/mrmr/tactilezoneX/7/Pod-SleazeArt
/mrmr/tactilezoneY/7/Pod-SleazeArt 0.02") but nothing about the accel
data (even when conecting a simple "print")
I guess I should somehow "open" it on the ipod side (in touch OSC for
instance there is an on/off switch for it...)
in any case - thank you
      best

      hi
      checked it
mrmr 1.019, iPOd Touch OS 2.2
everything else works, including touch OSC accel data (and all
      mrmr-created controls)

Here is a line from one of my .mrmr files:
      accelerometer auth .1 40 8 2 6 38 3 _ 3
try adding that with a text editor.

      wow, many thanks!!
but it's gonna be something : "try adding that with a text editor"
!!! - that's gonna be a real adventure (I only know how to use the
      interface editor app)
well, i already know what i will be doing tomorrow!!!
all the best - thanks again

It's sometimes easier to write an interface than create one in the
Mrmr interface builder. ;) Just look at a couple of your existing
interfaces and the example ones and you'll get the hang of it quickly.

sorry to bother you, but - how do you upload those?? should be
possible from max directly I guess, but how do you know the port to
      which send it?
      thanks
