It looks like you're not using Wordpress anymore. Is there any way you can describe what technology stack you're using for the site now? The speed improvement is great. I ask because I'm also a web developer.

I don't feel the website much faster,is anyone feel about that?

The whole website is faster for me (I am in Europe).

Moreover, it's strange to have various forum categories and not being allowed to restrict search within these categories, as well as not being allowed to use the poster's name as a search key.

I don't understand why C74 doesn't offer such basic forum functionalities as they exist on zillions of other forums.

Search function is pretty odd. But i like the new response time, and finally i can copy code without flash plug-in!

With search results, could we get the preview text showing the snippet with the detected keywords, rather than just the text from the first post of the thread? I'm sure this was the case with the old search, and it makes it much harder to whittle down to the relevant results without this

I find the site faster, but there's something wrong on searching. Any search seems to point to same results. Unusable for now.

One thing on the forum is strange though: Topics where people post patches directly (i.e. pasting JSON into their post) are extremely hard to read because the JSON goes on forever (especially for big patches). See this random thread for example:

I had scroll for quite a while to get to any of the replies at the bottom. I've never noticed this being an issue in threads before, I guess the pasted patchers didn't use to take up that much space? Anything that can be done about it?

hey the forum feels faster, but when one wants to edit a message he has just published, it's difficult to grab the "edit" button ; it disappears if your mouse takes a wrong path and it's very picky about this. I think the edit button should have the same visibility as the 'trash' button, or at least it should appear when however the whole zone of a message, not only the text.

...what a great idea to put the "trash" button exactly where the "edit" button has been before, i just deleted my post. :)

but thanks for the code toolbar, it was about time. drag files is also nice.

atm i have issues to hit the "edit" button in firefox (it highlights when the mouse is some 25 pixels below it, but it does not react to click there ... i have to be very fast to click it where it is located.)

Hi, I'm using the searchbar and build.js crashes everytime the word "text" is in the term. (firefox)

We've just pushed some new code that should fix a few of the errors you have been experiencing.

RVIRMOORS: we are doing our best to redirect older links to their proper current targets. There may be a few link patterns that we have missed. 

VICHUG, ROMAN: the edit button should be more "grabbable" now (hit reload on browser to fetch new JS). Expect to see more design improvements down the road.

JONAS: we did our best at importing from the older database which had very mixed formatting rules. Unfortunately, we don't have a solution just yet for finding and re-formatting things that look strange like the one you pointed out. Will have to think on this.

We have plans for more advanced features but need to work towards that goal incrementally. Been doing lots of searching (via google's "site:cycling74.com"), and have noticed a lot of dead internal links in the forum (where threads point to other threads/pages).

Now, in some posts in the forum the fullname of the owner of the account is displayed. No nickname anymore... Due to this, I re-activated another account.

Sorry for the confusion. This is still an option. On your Profile, "edit" under your Gravatar. In "User Account Settings" your First and Last Names are private.

Hello, tiny thing but thought I would mention it. When I test the Twitter link in "Elsewhere Online" it's broken with some sort of encoding error searching for" %40simonlysander" instead of "@simonlysander"

Heya, SLO: If you remove the "@" character, it should go straight to your Twitter page. Meaning "simonlysander" will work, rather than "@simonlysander". I'll make some edits to the layout to make this more clear, though.

On my setup (OSX.9.5, Safari 9.1.3 ), the "Copy to clipboard" button to get a Max patch doesn't work (after clicked, there is a

Just an example. It could already help to be able to narrow a search to focus only on a particular forum. Correct me, if that exists already. Don't see that option.

Thanks for mentioning. We really wanted to avoid a Flash based solution for the "Copy to Clipboard" feature. Unfortunately this included making a trade-off as some older browser (f.e. Safari < 10) don't support the modern JS API necessary for it. As a workaround you can either select and copy the text manually or use a more recent browser. Thanks.
