My question was not complete, what i would like is to use the INPUTS(digidesign 888 I/O).I hope that writing the word digidesign does not restrict me from getting reply.(ahahahaha)
      P.S:Been using Max/MSP for 10 days,it s a great tool , wanna keep going

If you wan't stream the sound from MaxMSP into ProTools, you could have a
      look at DirectConnect
It's discontinued, but I had it running in the OS 9 days.
Otherwise, for MaxMSP to play thru the 888 hardware, you will need an
ASIO driver for the 888 (don't know if it exists).

Its certainly not restricting you from getting a reply, but the word
digidesign usually means there is no satisfying answer at all...
They just don't want you to use their hardware with other software, and
they don't want you to use their older hardware at all. They want you to
buy the newest and trash the old stuff and anything which doesn't fit
      into their limited world.
Good luck, if you run OS 9, you should be able to find old drivers for
their hardware, as usual not too reliable. I remeber that it was
possible. I'll go through my old backups, maybe I can find those...
I'd love to see a law which would force any company to open all
necessary details as soon they stop giving support for older
hardware/software to enable people to DIY...

I see that, Digi have a very efficient way of twisting the consumer arm , making him Upgrade...Because of the work(postproduction) , the compagny i m working for has to use protool , it s a a great software with amazing controlers and MaxMSP is installed in a less busy editing room. The trial version is ending in 16days and i see that MSP wont replace the 2447837 plug ins available from other developper.LIke i said earlier MSP is an amazing creative tool and for my personnal use i will have a different interface and a VST based software.
      A+
      Eric
      P.S:if you see some kind of a driver that might work , i m interested(grinny smile ).......

But almost... For me Max/MSP is the tool which turns even ProTools into
a creative suite. Whenever I need a crazy effect, I make a pluggo. Which
easily replace circa 2447832 of those plug ins. I made filters, playable
in quarter tones, a spacialisation which is not restricted to the x.1
cage, a denoiser, a granulator.... None of them existed, in the way I
would want them, on the "market" (for good reasons I guess). Now I think
its faster to build exactly the tool I need, than searching for somthing
which might be close to what I need, but never fits exact.

That is exactly my intention , but i notice problems occur when TDM and Pluggo based plug ins are mixed together in the same sessions. Not that i m trying to be the Devil s advocate but for standard compression , parametric EQ , GRM filters and pitch shift
TCelectronics , WAves , GRM are tools that i used A LOT and there satisfying. Is there still stability problems (between Pluggo and TDM) on OS X ?

      I don't know, as I can't afford a TDM system ;-()
But I don't know what should cause a problem, the only thing I can
imagine are timing/latency issues, but thats something you can always
      work around...
(Or Dizzydeisign designed it purposely bad...)
Anyway if its just Pluggo related let us and C74 know whats up.
