    Hi,
I am trying to create a patch which gets the output from a slider and controls a sound effect ny dragging it.
    Can anyone help?
    Many thanks
    Jonathan.

Just to update my rather open ended problem...
I now have a patch which allows me to read a sound file into the buffer and scrub in the buffer window. All I need to do now is make it so I can scrub using a slider object rather than the buffer window. Can someone please help me with the last bit of this problem!!!
Here is the patch so far:

i dont think you patch does exactly what you think. are you aware that
you also changing the pitch when moving through the buffer?
i think this one is closer to what you think (and just one of many ways
      of doing "the scrub")

Check out the waveform~ object if you want to get really into it... I wish I had a lot sooner. Your scrubber can be used to set the loop points, plus there's a full-featured interface for mousing, selection choice, moving and stretching the selection, zooming, snapping to grid, etc. It rivals most audio apps in my opinion as far as getting around in a waveform window.
