Pluggo Raindrops VST Substitution for MAX 6

    Mar 06 2014 | 3:59 pm
I need to update a MAX 4.6 patch that used the Pluggo VST 'Raindrops' to work in MAX 6. I am looking for some kind of water lapping sound that interacts while I play the electric cello. Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks, Jeff

The old Pluggo Raindrops is now part of the Pluggo For Live /M4L Pack. Maybe you can copy or recreate the patch from there.
One rather fast possibilty would to just replace the plugin~ /plugout~ with inlets and outlets and load the patch into a be bpatcher.

Thanks for the response. That is an idea. I thought there might be some sort of granular synthesis to substitute for the Raindrops VST.

Does this Pack exist anywhere in a form that non-Live owners can access? I know you can hack M4L devices, but not Packs, right? I may have got this wrong, but I thought there was talk of making this available to the rest of us, at some time, or at least those of us with Pluggo licences. Or something. Cheers Roger

Not that I know. Maybe I will just use a sound file that I could trigger in different ways for that portion of a piece. Jeff

Thanks for this. I'll give it a try in Max 6 and report back. Jeff

Jan, the Raindrops patch-copy you posted actually does work in Max 6. I am very excited about that. What a great idea! Thanks so much! So I am assuming some of the others from M4L will work as well. Jeff

Great! Good luck with your perfirmance! The Pluggos should all work as Max patches - well that's what they are. Not sure though what the license situationis. One the one hand they are part of m4l which has a license of it's own, on the other hand Cycling74 stated somewhere that m4l devices cannot be protected from sharing. Maybe some "official" could shed some light on this issue?
