re: delay feedback hum

I am using tapin and tapout to create multi-tap delays with high feedback but get a lot of low hum accumulation. I tried tap.nr to reduce the hum but this changes the sound of the live instrument. Maybe I do not know how to use the tap. nr object correctly. I put it at the end of the chain. Can anyone give me advice about reducing the hum without effecting the live sound please? Thanks! Jeff

Well, I dont know if the hum will be better but i've found the IRCAM library's ejies delay to be is better for varying in real time + it doesnt alter pitch whilst varying delays. Not sure if it might sound less hummy too? worth a try T

Assuming that the hum is on the source sound (most likely) then it's better if you filter it out _before_ it goes into the delay line. Try a sharp high pass filter, or if it's a harmonic of the mains frequency, a sharp band cut filter. If it's broad band noise, you might try one of Tom Erbes spectral sound shapers inside a vst~.
