I have a number of patches that I run as applications on both MAC and Windows machines. Does anyone know about an external that can recognize the sort of machine a patch is running on? MAC or Windows? I now have to make small changes that are susceptible to error and rather have the ability to recognize the platform.

Thanks. The "plat" message is not in my helpfile (7.3.5) but it seems to work. Am I right that it gives '0' when performed on a OSX machine and another number when used on Windows? (745987536 on my 2nd machine)

Oh, and using system 10.9.5 on my MAC and Windows 10 on the other machine.

oh, sorry, i'm on max8(i went to the example called "profile" to remember which object might be applicable here, but didn't realize 'plat' was a newer message).... and it should print out "plat mac" or "plat win"(although i'm on a mac, so i can only confirm it says "plat mac" but assume it would say "plat win" on windows) hmmmm... maybe someone else will have a better idea.
