Ring Modulation help
Hello Everyone,
i have a question
when we
modulate 900 Hz with an LFO of 1 Hz? Acoustically sepaking, the result is a 900 Hz with a 2Hz tremolo. what makes this 2Hz ?
I expect 1hz but actually we hear 2hz. i was research but all i got information was amplitude range .
I don't understand this point.
then how we get 2hz ?
anyone can gently explain to me ? i am all new to this subject.
Thanks.
Lu
Hi
if you are modulating with a sinusoid, a 1Hz frequency will modulate the amplitude between -1. - 0. - +1. in a single period, which is twice per second. Scaling amplitude by a negative number generates 'positive' output:
