I've been working with the basics of max/msp/jitter for about 6 months now and normally i've been able to troubleshoot right off the manual, but recently i've been wanting to go into more advanced realms of image processing.
I've recently become very interested in the analog scan processing of the rutt/etra video synthesizer and have been scrambling to find ways of emulating that within jitter to be a part of a multi channel work this semester. Unfortunately none of the professors know max/msp very well.
essentially what the rutt/etra does is rescan the incoming video image by retiming the image frame relative to the incoming sync. The visual result is a real time image in which the texures of the image are seen only in raster lines. Example: http://www.audiovisualizers.com/toolshak/vidsynth/ruttetra/raster.jpg
I've looked all over the jitter documentation and cannot wrap my head around doing this. any suggestions?
