Something like shell

    Hi List, I'm looking for something like "shell" for Mac, but running under windows. Does this exist?

      For unknown reasons, Topher's code never worked on my machine... So you may use my DOSHack external. You can ask it pretty much things. Just notice that if you want to run .exe files, there's still a window focus bug i haven't find the time to fix yet.       Thank you Wesley, I thought to it. Unfortunately Java is not installed by default on Windows. Create problems for sharing my patches. --

      But fortunately almost alny user of max/msp/jitter will have java installed because of the mxj support. What is the standard windows shell anyway? Dos prompt?

      I don't know. Something that would be able to tell MyApp what is the system which is runnig on, what is the amount of RAM, what is the name of the ethernet card, and so on. I'm mainly a Mac' user, and not an expert. --
