Sound synthesis sources

    Dec 03 2006 | 5:08 pm
    Hi there,
I'm new to sound synthesis, but would like to go beyond the msp
tutorials and the google search, I'd like to know what happens under the
hood. What would be the right source(s) to start? Either books or sites
    are fine with me.
    Thank you for your help.
    Best,
    Leonardo.

The usual book sources are good places to start:
Charles Dodge & Thomas Jerse, Computer Music, 2nd Ed., Schirmer 1997
Curtis Roads, The Computer Music Tutorial, MIT Press 1996
      F. Richard Moore, Elements of Computer Music, Prentice Hall 1990
There are also some very good relevant articles in the following
      anthologies:
Curtis Roads & John Strawn, eds., Foundations of Computer Music, MIT
      Press 1985
Curtis Roads, ed., The Music Machine, MIT Press 1989
Max Mathews and John Pierce, eds., Current Directions In Computer
      Music Research, MIT Press 1989
