There seems to be a bug in SQLite where the AS command does not update a column.

I have a database (called movies) of movies. In the movies' names, I have included a star system using *.

SELECT LENGTH(name) - LENGTH(REPLACE(name, '*', ''))AS stars FROM movies

should search for asterisks in the filename (column 'name') and return how many there are, than update the 'stars' column with those values. What happens is that it returns a single column named stars but does not update the column in the table.
