In Ableton Live if I wanted to automate a parameter with a stream of data, say from a kinect, I would use live.remote~. What if I wanted to do the same in a standalone Max program? I can load a VST with vst~ and send a stream of messages to change a parameter by name at control rate, but the modulation won't be smooth, like it would if it was receiving a signal, and Max even crashed once on me, as if it didn't like such a heavy stream of messages assaulting the VST. Is there an option here I'm missing?
