I am involved in the cleanup of a patch, and am in the process of
clearing out sections of "dead" code. I wish to get this code out of
the way of the functional patch, but keep it on hand in case of a
rollback. Moving all of the code to a subpatch accomplishes most of
this, but the code is still "active" in the patch, as it uses sends and
receives. What would be *really* nice would be if there was a way to
quarantine this code, but still keep it within the patch.
Is there a way to do this, besides renaming all of the sends and
receives (of which there are many)? To "shutdown" code, but keep it
available within your patches? A Max version of "commenting things out"?
I don't believe so, but perhaps someone has an idea...
