This patch (inspired or copied from P. Elsea's tutorials, I think) should allow the control via MMC of Protools from Max, at least. Protools should also be configured in order to receive MMC (in 7.4, go to setup/peripherals menu and enable mmc (slave) - keep the id on 127 - then go to setup/midi/input devices and turn on "from max msp 1" - in the max patch, select "from maxmsp 1" as outgoing midi port. To control Max from protools in some way, just enable setup/ peripherals/mmc master (change id) in protools, and turn "to maxmsp 1" on, in setup/midi/midi beat clock. In max, select "to maxmsp 1" as input port. Protools seems to send star/locate controls just like Max in the patch below - you have then to route the different commands to be used in your own patch.
