Tabs: Supported Feature?

I would like to start using the tab feature found in the help files in Max 6. There doesn't seem to be any documentation about how to use it although I've been able to piece together the general idea.
For one thing I'm wondering how to take the word "(root)" out of the title of the main patch. Another thing is that in M4L devices the tabs appear greyed out although they still function.
Are these "patcher tabs" an officially supported feature?
- Apr 15 2013 | 8:54 pmI seems like they might only be supported for the use case of "help-patch for official external object".To get rid of root, right click on the grey area to the right of the rightmost tab.
