The Art and Technique of Electroacoustic Music by Peter Elsea
I just ordered this book. Anything like an "electroacoustic music theory" text is a must-read for me so I'm excited about this one.
Anyone else had a chance to read it yet?
Hey stringtapper
I haven't read this particular text but few would question Peter's sound design/composition credentials.
Interestingly, your question resulted in this find:
I have skimmed the Emmerson and Smalley texts cited here, and found them interesting.

Yep, The Language of Electroacoustic Music is one I've been reading quite a bit lately.
Trevor Wishart's Audible Design listed in that link is another I picked up and seems like a great look into his processes.
Also his On Sonic Art and the more recent Sound Composition.
I live in the academic music theory world and I see a real need for an electroacoustic music theory text that is technology agnostic and can introduce otherwise trained musicians in the most relevant and utilized techniques. I'm hoping this book gets close to that.
