Is this correct? Do I have to drag all my old Max 6.0.8 3rd party stuff over to the new 6.1 folder?

Or is there a way for me to just update my Max 6 installation? (heavily preferable)

The main reason why the folders are separated is that all externals need to be updated in order to run in 64 bit max. If we had made the folders the same you'd be looking at a pretty big mess if you tried to run in x64.

Move stuff over as you need it, and check out the /packages folder in the Max app folder
