It seems so simple I'm afraid to ask, but I cannot find the info anywhere (here, google and doc): is there a way to pass on an argument to a gen~ object? I know the first argument will be the gendsp file name, but what about after that?

There's a feature request ticket to support instance arguments (something similar to patcherargs) but didn't appear to be a high priority.

ok great! I also wonder if that is the best way to save on CPU if we have elements that we don't want recalculated every samples... there is a vague sentence about (self)optimisation in the doc but not much on the topic and I'm curious.

You might have guessed (from that post and the other) that I am porting my externals to gen~ and therefore I try to make them as identical as the C ones...
