ableton's audio to max with rewire~
i can’t get it to work. also in de rewire~’s help file. what could i be doing wrong? i’m first staring max(5.0.5) and then ableton(7.0.10). i’m on 10.5.5.
i also only get tokyo 1 up to 8 for outputs to choose in rewire~.
anyone expirienced this before maybe?
Maybe you forgot to bang the rewire~ object to generate the output menus. You should see all the Live outputs and busses in the out put menus, not the "tokyo" stuff.
Works fine here.
for some reason i can’t even see ableton anymore in the u-menu of rewire’s help file.
Are you on mac or PC?

MBP 2,4 Ghz OSX 10.5.5
just rebooted my computer. i see ableton now but i can’t select any other outputs then the tokyo ones.
Reinstall rewire 1.7
Quit Live, go into
and delete the alias to the Ableton Live Engine
Restart Live, forcing it to reset rewire.
Now go through the rewire~ help file process again.
If it still doesn’t work, then it’s a rewire or system issue.

whats that alias to the ableton live engine?
I’ve always liked SoundFlower for this job. You may need to then set SoundFlower channels so they output the main mixes.
Anyone else have preferences on this? I found that having the ReWire driver in Max was a bit restrictive.
The other one for this is software Jack, but have not tried that properly.
For soundflower, send audio to max from soundflower 3 and 4 say, and in the soundflower icon, set 1&2 to play out monitors. that way, Max gets audio and anything you want played, you send to 1&2.
