abstraction reporting its parents name

Dec 05 2006 | 1:37 am

Does anyone have a method for an abstraction to report the name of its
parent patch, even if that parent patcher is also an abstraction? I
have a huge patch with a bunch of dead objects in it, and don’t know
where they all are, and I want to replace them. I need an abstraction I
can throw in in place of them to report where they are, so I can go in
the patch and remove them.

I figured javascript would be the only way to do this, but none of the
several ways I have tried yet have worked.
