i'm stuck with something I wrote with the max 5 sdk, and now tried it in a max 7 external.

jmouse_setcursor (x->w_patcherview, [object], JMOUSE_CURSOR_IBEAM);

object_method(x->w_patcher, _sym_refresh); //redraw

to change the cursor for objects but it no longer works for the patcher background

jmouse_setcursor (x->w_patcherview, box, JMOUSE_CURSOR_IBEAM);

object_method(x->w_patcher, _sym_refresh);

x->w_patcherview = object_attr_getobj(x->w_patcher, _sym_firstview);

box = jpatcher_get_box(x->w_patcherview);

Maybe something works different now in 7, there was something announced about a changed redrawing system of the GUI with the release..

I found out this actually still works. In subpatchers i can apply the new cursor to the patcher.

So it seems that toplevel patchers are not in a box, but i need a box for the setcursor function. Is that correct? Any comment please if you know what i'm talking about

I'm sorry. This works perfectly in top-level patchers, too.

My mistake was the patcherview assining needs to be deferlowed if the object is initiated with the patcher.

I will implement cursor changing into my mouse external.
