Beginner Question-USB interface confusion
I’m trying to hook my guitar up with Max 5 via M-Audio USB Fast track. I have it set to. "Audio-ON" "Driver: ad_ASIO M-Audio USB) (Input Device: Fast track" "Output Device: Speakers (high definition)" "Thread Priority: Highest" "Latency: 80" and the I/O channels just give me the option of Right or Left. I can get an input signal but i do not get an output signal.
In other words. I have it set up to see a signal from my guitar but do not hear my guitar from my speakers.
Would any of you guys be able to help send off to getting creative with my music?

What does your patch look like? Without seeing it, it’s hard to tell
what’s going on.
Also, the Audiotester patch that can be found in the Extras menu might
be helpful to see what is going on.
here it is. (as a jpeg)
i have fast track input 1 and 2 selected to show that i have both options although i think the sound is mono because only one of the two channels picks up signal.

So you don’t have a patch running? If not, then you won’t hear anything.
Here’s just about the most simple patch to pass audio from the input
to the output:
----------begin_max5_patcher---------- 235.3ocmQ1siBCBDE9Z3ofv0cMzlZhwWEiwf.QGS6PSgl3tF2m8cgRapq55O 2L.GNC46vbhR3asGMNNaIaEiPNQIjnTPfjNS30xipJoKZia9RKUeyy5uB6pA rx3i2UjDAczoc6gOJlXz14GbJRpMRuZOf61zZT9dJlKlIxX4hEgkx4CU15PG mozPI6oYUpuCq4WyZ9sYcHU8R9OaL8fxcvNTVwyF2wV+nXUV7OoJ1NuBv+NP hOWP+xn5rcspAXRAfkOBg137.J8fEm3o3BO6As1fSmH0ftwBnOgvc91eEhDO AQh2jneObl9C2LhnkA -----------end_max5_patcher-----------
Unless I’m missing something, you need to create a patch that routes your inputs to your outputs: [adc~ 1 2] to [dac~ 1 2]. BUT be careful…would recommend adding volume control (*~) between the two so you don’t hurt yourself or your speakers.
Thank you very much gentlemen!
but Chris I couldnt read your patch. would you mind resubmitting it for future reference?

Copy all the funny lines, including the lines that read:
