i want to have a progress bar that changes opacity with its progress. it works fine. but: when i send any other RGB information than black with the slidercolor message it always jumps to white. why??? is that a bug?

Obviously, those char values are magenta when interpreted as char data, however, [multislider] interprets channel values as normalized floats. In other words, any value >= 1 is interpreted as full value. Hence, 255 1 255 = 255 255 255 = 1 1 1

You can use [vexpr] or [scale] to convert standard RGB char lists to normalized floats.

(255 1 255) --> [vexpr $f1/255.] --> (1. 0.003922 1.)

(255 1 255) --> [scale 0. 255. 0. 1.] --> (1. 0.003922 1.)

I'm new to Max. I created the objects described but it doesn't seem to be working. Do you have a working example? Would you mind sharing? I'm wondering if it would work with a swatch?
