The documentation for plug-in support says:

"The first release of Max 5 does not support building VST plug-ins from patches."

Does this mean that it will be possible in the future to make VST's of our patches in Max 5?

If so, can such VST's use java and/or javascript?

Also, if I make a VST on a Mac, can it be used in a PC host, or must it be created separately for each platform?

I think whenever they get Pluggo's "Max5" version done, we'll have building pluggo plugins back.

I think so, but you might ask in the pluggo forum to be sure.

OSX has to be built in OSX, Win has to be built in Win. But the patches are mostly cross platform (i.e. build your patch in win or osx, and build the application/plugin on that platform).
