I have been away from MAX for a while and need some quick advise regarding the best way to solve some simple tasks.

I have a button on my midi controller sending a notein(pitch 0) and (velocity 64) on start and (velocity 0) on end(i.e when I release the button). However I only want to capture the first press down. Can I please ask you to advise how to best filter out the 0 velocity inputs? It needs to be a double select of some kind since I first have to select (pitch 0) as shown below
