Hello, First of all I am completely new to Max so forgive me if I dont have the terminology right, but Im interested in modifying or building audio filter effects that have parameters like cutoff based on the pitch of the incoming signal. Are there existing projects that come close to this, or existing components that I could combine to do something like this?

[retune~] with the pitchdetection attribute enabled could help you. Here's an experiment I did. Drag an existing bit of music from your harddrive in the playlist. You may wanna experiment with the two numberboxes at the right that connect to the [clip] object. Have fun and good luck!

fzero~ also does something like pitch detection.

Yes for just pitch detection [fzero~] is more robust and reliable than [retune~] - easily as good as fiddle or pitch or analyzer or sigmund for that specific task, but takes a little getting used to.
