I could find neither in the API doc nor on the forums if there is a way, when you open and write a file with

path_createsysfile(), sysfile_write() and sysfile_close()

to know if the file you're writing already existed or not... Is there any error code to know or specific function to call and know ?

(assuming you don't open a dialog box for the filename, because if you do, then the dialog box asks for replacing).

you can easily achieve this in java with the File.exists() method.

yeah, I've got already my bunch of 9 externals coded in C/C++, so I probably won't switch to Java for that unique function ;)

You can use path_opensysfile() (don't forget to close if it exists). Or you can use path_fileinfo()

Now, have come to another problem... Apparently I can't write huge (text) files.

And whenever I try to write a big file (I tried to test the limit and it looks to be around 4,3Mo) I get a "-36" error. My first guess is that's because somewhere, the number of byte to write is coded with an unsigned long (32bits) or an unsigned int which maximal value is 4,294,967,295. But I don't have access to the code of 

 so I can't actually know where the error comes from.

The ulong or uint reason is crap. It doesn't make sense because 4,294,967,295 would be 4,29Go. Forget about that. I'm just being stupid.

But I still have the problem ! And don't really see any way to see what's going on wrong...

 form a string.c_str() to a char* before trying to pass it on and write it.
