External/object for opening a file ?

November 9, 2007 | 12:54 am

Hi ,

I want Max to send an "open file" message to windows, so that Windows opens the file with the default application associated to the file type.

I know there is an object or external out there (I used it) but I can’t remember it and Google’s not helping me.

Thanks if you can help me

Cheers

Hi

I made the following message

;
max launchbrowser "C:test.txt"

But when clicked, this does not launch notepad.. but if ‘test.txt’ is missing, an error window pops up "file can’t be found blabla"
so it’s finding the file but not opening it..

am i missing something ?

Cheers

continuing from my previous email:

the following message works:

;
max launchbrowser "C:test.html"

what can i use instead of ‘launchbrowser’ to open any file ?

Thanks

Try this:

http://maxobjects.com/?v=objects&id_objet=3090&requested=system%
20commands&operateur=AND&id_plateforme=0
