I'm using a very basic patch with jit.playlist playing FullHD ProRes movies to jit.world. FPS rate on my Retina MBP is around 40. I'd like to use jit.gl.slab to use the tp.slide.jxs shader but as soon as I have the jit.gl.slab in my video path, my FPS rate is going down to 15. What I'm doing wrong ? Any cues ? Any other way to get similar effect to tp.slide.jxs ?

No pwindow, and of course my graphics card is not what I could get with a MacPro but it is still quite good. I should get a better frame rate, this is still a Retina MBP. Here's the patch :

Can't say much. Haven't used Max7 playlist and world features yet.

make sure output_texture is enabled on the jit.playlist object.

Thanks Rob, indeed, output_texture is already enabled. BTW, when I was using Max 6, I used to have jit.movie in uyvy mode to improve my frame rate. jit.playlist doesn't allow this feature but the way I understand it now, it is not necessary anymore ?

colormode uyvy can still be useful, especially if you aren't using an alpha channel. you can send the message colormode uyvy to jit.playlist (it's a message of jit.playlist, as opposed to an attribute of jit.movie, confusing but that's how it is).

note, if output_texture is enabled and colormode uyvy is enabled, you no longer need the uyvy2rgba conversion slab.

Thanks for that info. It could be nice to have colormode as an attribute for jit.playlist.

Rob, small question about the colormode message: does sending that message apply the colormode for every clip of the playlist or do I have to sent something like "colormode 1 uyvy", "colormode 2 uyvy", etc. ?

After doing several tests, I don't see any major difference in fps rate between uyvy and argb, and even between enabling or not output_texture. Seems the bottleneck is somewhere else... Totally puzzled by this... :(
