I include a patch to aid explanation (needs the loadbang triggerd to set it up.)

step 1 the user inputs a number or a steam of numbers ( in my example I use the number '888888')

step 2 a number ten arrives on the manual input , but instead gen should output the last number inputed before 10 '888888' in this example, but it could be any number higher than 10. when using the manual input box. 3999 3049 59595 anything.

but instead of 888888 being the result , i always get '0'

even if i add a delay, so i can give plenty of time for the gate to work....for some reason a 0 always ends up at gens 'result' outport

maybe i am simply not understanding one of the objects?

There is a loadbang...also gen has 3 inputs ...they are crossed over inside 3 ,1 ,2. I have 3 ports because i tried to use a delay on one to help, but it did not.

hi still not sure, but, I just figured its actually the gate in gen , when it closes, it of course makes a '0' on the result output (number~)

Hi, i just did a quick win64 compile of f0.smooth and f0smooth2.

Just unpack the zip into your Package folder.

I don't really understand what you are trying to achieve, but it seems you want to use a sample and hold instead of a gate.

sample and hold objects inside of gen~ are sah and latch.

yes thank you.... i should have just said i needed something to hold

like how a message box, int and float holds a number.

it took a rebuild but i manged to create what i needed with sah
