as a M4L newbie I want to create a device with the following features for controlling an instrument rack. This instrument rack is my main rack and includes several VSTs/synths/Live patches. Partly the ranges of the chains are overlapping.

1. Select device chain with MIDI program change

2. Add 8 macro controls for instrument rack

3. Disable unused devices to save CPU and mute, i.e. devices not currently selected by current chain state should be disabled

I started with Robert Henke's PGM_Chain device and added macro controls. This works fine, but I have problems getting necessary infos for step 3. How can I get the info for each device in the rack which range it covers? With this information I could check if the current value of the chain selector matches the range of the device and disable or enable it.
