assuming that 'sports_button_1' is the scripting name of an object.

It seems to me that one could thus create an array of objects:

sports_clips[0] = this.patcher.getnamed('sports_button_1');

sports_clips[1] = this.patcher.getnamed('sports_button_2');

sports_clips[2] = this.patcher.getnamed('sports_button_3');

sports_clips[3] = this.patcher.getnamed('sports_button_4');

this.patcher.bringtofront('sports_clips[0]');

but that doesn't work. Is there some way to get a valid reference out of an array? I've tried to put the array value in a variable, & then using that:

U have to "touch" an array element instead of passing array element .

 is a lookup , u are retrieving references to desired objects ,by 

 method . U dont use whole chain as it is because it points nowhere .

    this.patcher.getnamed("foo").bringtofront() 


this is equivalent to what u tried to do by passing an array element/variable .

But now u should not have any issues with it anymore .

im wrong . your first assumption should work . as these are patcher properties . Let me check it again

if object is correctly referenced into array , passing it as a argument should do the job . Dont use quotes . if that dosent work - please zip the patcher with js and post it here . so i can easily look at it .

ok . u have to set backround property first of all your referenced object to false
